What is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is an extremely popular finishing/coating process. Powder is used on a wide variety of products. It is used as a protective, durable & decorative finish. There is almost a limitless range of colors & textures available. Powder coating is a high quality durable finish that allows for improved efficiencies.

How it works?

A process called electrostatic spray deposition (ESD) is typically used in the application of the powder coating to a metal object. Applicators use a spray gun to apply an electrostatic charge to the powder that is attracted to the grounded part. After being coated with the powder, the parts/products are allowed to cure in an oven where a chemical reaction takes place & causes the powder particles to harden & form a finish that is very hard to break down or damage.

 Durability of Powder Coating

The high-quality finish of powder coating is found on literally thousands of products you see in your every day life. It protects the toughest machinery & equipment as well as daily house hold items. It provides a more durable color & finish than paints have to offer. Powder coating reduces the risk of scratches, chipping, corrosion, fading & other wear & tear issues.

It looks great & lasts a lifetime. I will also mention, it’s very environmentally friendly compared to most paints & common finishing techniques.
